While scientists explore frontiers in
outer space and beyond, some of us are challenged to
explore everyday life.
This is the story of Asghar Ali -- a
human dodo, as thought some who wanted to buy him to
beg in the streets of Pakistan. The parents resisted to
sell their son, born without upper limbs, despite
poverty. They did not want to fail the test God had put
them to - raising a child with just a finger-like
attachment to his right shoulder, while his siblings
were normal in every respect. They found a willing sprit
in their challanged little boy to conquer life in his
own way. |

Today, that boy without upper limbs
works in an office. He not only takes care of his
hygiene needs, grooming and other daily activities but
can also paint signs and stitch with his hands,
feeling joyous, armed with the knowledge that he can
live a meaningful and happy life, undaunted and
undeterred despite the wisecracks of the childhood
companions and the thorns that accompany this beautiful
rose -- life. He was engaged to be married but ...
The nay-sayers believed that God had missed out in
His creation.
Did He? |
