Generation C is the buff now. We are the creative
generation of the world. Marketers initially called us
Generation Y, but they later found out we are much more
diverse in our abilities then they reframed it to Gen C.
We all look for our identities to be different. The
quest to quench our thirst of individuality yet being a
part of a group is major contradiction. But, as the
adage says Birds of a feather flock together. We do find
our interest groups to let ourselves heard and noticed.
One such Genre to be notices is Fashion.
Fashion is not just showing off what you wear.
Believe me there are people who wear the best designer
wears and look as rustic as possible. Fashion is about
carrying what you wear; fashion is about making a
statement of who you are, what are your likes. Fashion
is about your mentality, exposure.

Fashion has evolved through time; the eras have
shaped and sized down fashion from the ramps of Paris,
Milan, NY, LA, even Karachi. Fashion has now entered the
homes of the commoner. It’s no more the dumb blonde’s
game but the mastermind at work also dresses up smartly.
Yes, the thinkers said “Don’t Judge a book by it’s
cover”; well, if you are a reader I am sure you also
read the reviews at the back. That was a lame example!
Well in Malcolm Gladwell’s Blink He talks about the
world behind the closed door of the mind; we all judge
things, people, situation etc at the first go. It may be
perceived truth, the truth or not the truth. But we all
do it. When it comes to looks the term is labeled as
“The Warren Harding Error.” That’s when we judge people
who are well dressed, handsome, and good looking,
Pretty, Sexy whatever adjective you use.
What ever it is, Its Eid so let’s talk about some
Fashion which Generation C might think of:
For the Globalized, Fusion is a great idea now. The
Short Chinese styled Kurtas (actually Chinese shirts to
be said); could be great to be worn with Aligarhi
Salwars or even dhoti styles Salwars. If you are short
then make it a bit fitting and if tall no worries!
For People who are the casual rockers: wear a khadi
material Kurta with your good old Blue jeans. The Khadis
are no available in a variety of colors, choose your
mood. All will flow.
For the Artistic minds: Wear the brighter shades of
the khadi Kurtas; and to show a little bit of our
artistic abilities wear a contrasting Churidaar Pyjama
with it. Something like Green Kurta is to Black
Churidaar; Golden Yellow Kurta is to Brown Churidaar.
For the Smart Casual: The Sherwani style Kurtas is a
great option. It comes in austere yet elegant colors-
Maroon, Navy Blue, Black, Grey etc. They have a two
shaded metamorphic tones, so am sure you ill not look
like Abbujaan.
For the Traditional Country Lovers: What else is
better than Salwar Kameez- Pick your color and light up
Eid.
